Winexpert is pleased to announce that for a limited time and by pre-order only, you can make and enjoy Chocolate Raspberry Port - gold medal winner at the 2008 and 2009 WineMaker Amateur Wine Competition.
Hugely popular last year, this wine is bursting with rich, intense flavours and aromas, has traditional Port character of warm, rounded cherry and plum, supported by a racy zing of bright raspberry. Perfumed and gently tart with luscious liquid chocolate, beguiling with dark, bittersweet aromas of coffee and vanilla. Toasty hints of oak guide the way to a long, rich finish. Excellent within three months, this wine will age gorgeously—if you can keep any that long!
Food pairings: Delicious on its own or with any dessert, or serve with toasted nuts or shortbread. Oak: Toasted Sweetness: 7 Body: Full Alcohol by volume: 15% - 16.5%
Pre-order deadline is August 7, 2009. Available September 2009.

This was such a huge hit that I am making it a 2nd time right now..try a piece of fine chocolate first, although it is great on it's own as well.

I have just bottled two batches of this fine Chocolate Raspberry Port. Not being a huge fan of Port because of the sweetness, I took a huge leap of faith and bought two batches since everyone was raving about it. While bottling, we sampled some and I have to say that this is the very first time that I absolutely loved something "right out of the carboy". Now, knowing how excellent this Port is, I will certainly have issues with letting it age the one year or more. I KNOW that we will be into it by Christmas. :>)

I made a batch of this port and bottled it on Feb. 14/08. I noted in my wine journal that on that day we tasted it from the carboy I noted, "it tastes good now-chocolate for sure". We just had the last bottle after dinner with friends on April 4/10. and it was wonderful with a lot of depth and not overly sweet. Desperate to get more. When will it be available?

We like this so much We ordered four last fall. My spouse does not usually like the sweet wines, however tshe enjoys the actual CRP. We simply drink a couple oz . every night after supper as well as drink it gradually when the mood strikes. It features a really complicated taste that changes as you swallow--and this remains on the tougue. Generally, the taste has mellowed within the eight months--chocolate was much more evident at first, now it is the actual raspberry.
I order mine here
